We love to skate around the obvious realities in life and get so caught up in ridiculous formalities and “politically correct” customs that we forget the truth about how full of sh** we all are. One thing we don’t point out enough is that there are too many supervisors, managers, and “superiors” who don’t know what their subordinates do, or even how they do it. Many of these management types don’t even know what it is they do themselves. I hate to break to news to you, but there’s something terribly wrong with this.
There are hard workers in the world who bust their ass and get paid PEANUTS for it and most of them have to train their superiors on how things work. Why is this? Is it because they didn’t work hard enough in school? Is it because they didn’t graduate? Who the hell cares! And what happened to valuing acquired skills, trial and error, and learning through experience? Does this matter anymore? Life skills and worth are not all learned in grade school or in college. Seriously, how many of these moron managers graduated over 30 years ago and are doing jobs that have no corrallation to their degree in the first place? It’s all a big joke and it is just another formality in itself. Not to say that all managers don’t work hard, but to say TOO MANY managers are considered managerial when they should be the ones at the bottom. There are “supervisors” out there that get lifted on a pedestal no matter how far they miss the mark in life. The term “manager” has become like an inherited status that causes others to fear knocking them down a peg or taking action to put them in their place.
I see non-managerial and low level workers as the real key to production and a lifeline to these managerial pricks. And be clear, I’m not saying a management position or owner role is not needed, but I strongly believe that it has become an elite club of jackballs who either don’t want to work hard, or simply don’t want to learn anything new or difficult. You can test my theory by simply asking your superior what it is that you do (in detail). If they can’t explain it, then they’re the very idiots that I’m talking about. It’s that simple.
When you think about the workforce, it can be summarized by stating it as several workers who are getting paid a modest wage, but know the ins and outs of the actual job (the most important parts). On the other side, you have the management, who is often either overpaid and know a little, or are grossly overpaid and know nothing of how to achieve the bottom line.
And there is no way to promote the little guy without superior lobbying or selling skills. Think about it, they need the little guy (who actually works) to stay the little guy and work harder! The whole point of being a manager is that you do less and get more, right? So once you get “promoted”, the idea is that you do less. How stupid is that theory? It may be true, but it’s stupid and not something we should be working towards. Hard work should bring on more positive things or perks, but not just laziness.
Overall, it hurts the brain to think about, but it’s a clever scheme created out of our own laziness that feeds our selfish minds. One extreme to the next. Pick one.
