I have no problem with the desire to want things or want better for ones self, but I’m sick and tired of our cultures arrogance and obsession with utterly meaningless things in life. I’m referring to the over needy, over expecting, and extremely high maintenance individuals that we have become. This has gotten on my very last nerves. When did we become a culture of snobs who spend more time whining and complaining about what we eat, what we wear, or what we DON’T have, rather than spend time being thankful that we have anything at all, or remember that we live better than most people on the planet?
I used to think that these rude, arrogant, and elite snobs were only found in celebrity circles, but I was wrong. I’ve even had the pleasure of meeting these people in my every day life. Lucky me! But this new group of “posh” snobs are surprisingly normal people just us. A day doesn’t go by that I don’t hear one of these ungrateful snobs complaining about the most ridiculous nonsense in life and equally praising themselves for all of their accomplishments. Honestly, what have we become? We complain about things even when we have accomplished nothing ourselves. It is never our fault. And do we realize that we have a lot to be thankful for? I do.
It’s great to have a strong opinion, a preference, and a damn personality, but why is our personality becoming so focused on….ourselves? Why are we so picky about everything? Why do we spend so much time complaining when things don’t go our way? Aren’t we grown ups? THIS IS LIFE! Has anyone looked around lately and seen what the hell is going on out there? If you are reading this blog you are probably somewhere nice and comfortable in your warm house (so am I). But the point is that you spend so much time whining about what you eat and what you wear and blahblahblah, that you forgot that there are people in the world who DON’T EAT and might wear the same filthy clothes for the rest of their lives. Wake UP!
It’s absolutely the time to change and I urge the youth to start waking up and take some responsibility for themselves. I know you might work hard and have overcome difficult trials in life, but you’re no better than anyone else and you need to remember that. We are all the same. Think twice about being your bratty self, do something positive.
