Falling in Love with Someone who Doesn’t Care About You

If you’re one of those people on earth who still tries to figure out what “love” means or what causes the complex and mysterious emotions of the opposite sex, you can stop wasting your time. The answer is that you will never know. It’s that simple. But one rule in life that seems to be quite solid (in my opinion) is that you should never fall in love with someone who doesn’t care about you. Now this rule seems like common sense and an overall basic principle, but the truth is that most of us don’t seem to follow this advice. Although loving someone who did not share the mutual feeling may have been acceptable back in junior high, we seem to repeat this mistake throughout the course of our lives and I never understood why (and never will). I mean, there are billions of people on this planet, many of whom probably would find you or me extremely interesting, fascinating, or even lovable…..but do we go out of our way to find these people? Not really. But we do seem to find the people who ignore us or show a lack of interest in getting to know us at all. Why is this?

If someone simply doesn’t care about you, why spend so much time and wasted energy into “loving” them? Many times the ones who would care about you most are right in front of you or even miles away, the hard part is realizing it, being thankful for it, and changing the pattern of falling for people who really don’t care and never will. As I love to say, there are billions of people on the planet and counting, so why waste time on only one person who can never make you happy?
