Impressing Others is a Waste of Time

June 22, 2008

Has impressing other people ever brought you actual success, happiness, security, or fulfillment in life? And if so, how? Is life smooth sailing for you now that you’ve wasted energy impressing those around you? And when you impress one group of people, there will always be another group that doesn’t approve of you.

It’s a waste of time. Do what is right, do what you must. Don’t get caught up in popular opinion or what other cool people think you should do. Time to grow up.

Dead Bodies Trumped by Gay Marriage Complaints

June 18, 2008

Over 60 people died today in one of the worst car bombings in Baghdad this year, but many people decided to spend time complaining about the “controversy” over gay marriage being made legal in California. People lost their mothers, fathers, children, and loved ones, and we spend our time whining over differences. Ridiculous and minute differences as we always have. It perhaps is time to focus more on the fire in the kitchen rather than the cracks in the basement.

I urge my brothers and sisters to start waking up and seeing what death, destruction, and real oppression is happening and has happened around this earth. Make some positive changes for once and stop whining about every lifestyle choice your neighbor makes. Agenda, agenda, agenda. We may be slowly losing our minds, but it’s never too late to change.

Airport Security Scores Again

June 16, 2008

I’m late to post about this story, but for those of you who have not heard, there was a 30 year old man named Brad Jayakody who was stopped in a London airport (by security) for wearing a shirt with a transformer on it that was holding a gun. He was told that he could not fly until he changed his shirt. WOW! Thank you homeland security. You guys are really focusing your time and resources on the real dangers in life. I feel much more comfortable knowing that on the front lines of the defense against air travel terrorism are these genius security teams protecting us from t-shirts.

As if it is not bad enough that we take so much crap from the only games in town when it comes to long distance travel (the airlines), now we can’t wear shirts with cartoons on them? What a joke. If this is not the twilight zone yet, it will be soon.

As you will see in this photo of the detained passenger, Brad Jayakody, this shirt was obviously an extreme security threat.

Are Hollywood Celebrities Serious?

June 11, 2008

For individuals like Vin Diesel, Ben Affleck, Paul Walker, Tom Cruise, Nicholas Cage, Angelina Jolie, and the rest of the ridiculous VIP list who claim to be “actors”, my question is this: Are these people serious? Are they joking when they appear in public and wave to audiences while blaring their corny smiles and arrogant walks in their designer uniforms? (don’t call me a hater damnit) But do they whole heartedly believe in their own hype, and as in hook, line, and sinker? Or do they just do it for show? Please tell me it is just for show, please.

And when they are interviewed talking about their latest “film” (translation: terrible and unoriginal remake) that they do simply for the money, which I can’t blame them for, are they actually serious about saying the new project is exciting and the greatest thing ever? Do they actually think these films are quality? Are they serious when comparing these new crap films to the old classics such as The GodFather, Casablanca, StarWars, Citizen Cane, or the several Kubrik (RIP) masterpieces that had surfaced throughout the past decades?

Someone please tell me…ARE THEY BEING SERIOUS? Has Hollywood finally lost its mind for good? These “stars” are more of a joke than any other group of celebrities on the globe, and to add insult to injury, they claim to know what is best for the world. Hell, some of them are even involved with the U.N. (unfortunately that was probably one of the better moves the U.N. has made this century). But I digress; I just want to meet one of these people behind the scenes, with no cameras, no video, and just ask them… ARE YOU SERIOUS?

I won’t mind if they are just pretending. Sometimes I pretend. I know I am nothing…do they realize that deep down they are nothing too?

You Give Your Whole Life

June 10, 2008

I’m thankful for the concept of work and for the ability to do work. I also realize that without working, we would not have food, water, shelter, entertainment, computers, telephones, etc.

I do, however, find it both amazing and quite depressing that most of our lives are given up to the workplace mainly because this fact is often overlooked and under appreciated. Spending most of your life at work may not be so bad if you are a Hollywood star, but the average human being spends more time with co-workers and supervisors than they do with their own families or friends.

This is something we should always remember so that we respect not only the workplace, but more importantly we respect others around us, whether they be co-workers, subordinates, or even our bosses (as they are known to be difficult). But we spend so much of our lives in this rat race and most of the stress we make is simply made up by bad attitudes and lack of respect. It is sad to see people knickle and dime each other over petty things and add to each others stress each day. I suggest that you think about this the next time you step into your workplace, because it is honestly a home more than a job.

A Free Nation Satisfied with Two Choices

May 30, 2008

The United States of America: Independent, creative, innovative, original, “out of the box”, revolutionary, open to change, and most of all, free to decide. Well that is in most areas indeed, but I’m amazed at how we continue to take only two political parties as serious options when we claim to be the most free nation on the map.

But remember folks, there are no other options that can be taken seriously when it comes to politics. That would go against tradition.

Propaganda to Silence Gas Price Complaints

May 29, 2008

We received an email today with the same propaganda nonsense that we get about twice a year, which basically suggests that as Americans we should simply shut up about gas prices being so high since there are other countries paying higher prices. So apparently if there are any injustices or issues of extortion going on in our country, we should simply ignore those issues or compare them to other global problems before making a fuss at all. Yeah well, I for one am still not buying this garbage.

The subject of the email was: “Why Europe thinks we are crybabies”. I love the term “why Europe”, as if Europe is some group entity or a person who is judging “us” and should dictate what we view as a problem. Can you say “permission slip”? But I must admit, propaganda still works and we all eat it up one spoon full at a time.
