Fear has always been a natural part of life and obviously one of our most important survival tools, but I’ve noticed a ridiculous amount of time and energy being put into illusions of safety vs. actual safety. By illusions of safety I mean the silly superstitions, nonsense habits, phobias, and meaningless routines that several of us go through in order to feel secure about our daily lives; when in reality we consciously open ourselves up to disaster in many other areas of our lives.
Take for example the increasing group of people who fuss about needing a trash can next to public bathroom doors. (So that they can bring a paper towel to touch the door handle upon exiting) This makes perfect sense right? You would not want to touch a filthy bathroom door with your bare hands. Who would?
But don’t forget that the same people who freak out about touching a door handle, will gladly handle things like money, car doors, shopping carts, chairs, books, computers, and the list goes on and on. This just seems very hypocritical to me, and an outright waste of time. And don’t think I need a lesson on O.C.D., because I do have my stupid habits as well…But I digress. As most of you already know, one of the items we touch most often is money, and money happens to be one of the filthiest items around. Actually, in most cases, money is much filthier than any public bathroom door. So why not bust out the paper towels when you are paying for a meal? Oh, all the sudden you don’t need a buffer when it comes to money? I for one have yet to see anyone hand money to a cashier with a napkin, but I’m still young.
So my point is this, why settle on this illusion of safety? Why waste the time, energy, money, and especially the emotion whining over such hassles like opening a door without a napkin? The truth is that we are usually only fooling ourselves, not the germs or the “fears”. We are ALWAYS at risk and there is no such thing as a perfect situation when it comes to safety or germs. Not to say we should not take precautions, but where has our common sense gone?
Now the only question left is this: How’s your fear working out for you?
The good thing about online hysteria over complete nonsenses is that it allows us to put things into perspective. People are making a big fuss over Google using a new favicon this week (it’s a tab image/logo) displayed for a few of their sites. And my reaction is….SO THE F**K WHAT! Why is this breaking news? If some flunky wants to make a logo of one of our English letters in lower case; let them do it and carry on with your lives. Why are you allowing this nonsense to be news worthy? It’s even shown up in my blog here that you are reading now, and I don’t give a damn about google. Or DO I???
My mentors always told me that society would eventually find a way to profit from a humans death, but I never believed it….until now.
Am I the only one who is noticing these ridiculous and imaginary costs that pop up all over the place and simply make no sense? Things we should simply NOT be paying for or simply paying less for. What the hell are we paying taxes for anyway? Where is this money going? Is it for the cops to work harder to give out speeding tickets, or catch j-walkers in the act, or keep us safe from kids who skateboard on sidewalks perhaps?
As a perfect example of a ridiculous and made up expense, I was reminded today that people actually have to pay for something called a “marriage license”. Are you f**king kidding me? A piece of paper from the government that says it is now acceptable to get married? This is ridiculous. Is this a free country or a shake down? It’s just an example of a made up expense and we have plenty of them. It is all nonsense that we conjure up out of thin air and charge people for, when in reality we cannot justify the ridiculous cost. We sit around with all of our possessions, which are not enough, and then imagine more ways to rip each other off for expenses that make no sense whatsoever.
I’m not just blaming “the powers that be”, I am blaming all of us. We are all becoming ignorant and selfish morons who are filled with greed. We would actually stop a funeral if the bill was not paid. This is not freedom, this is not justice, this is not life, this is not compassion. This is insanity.
People wake up. I don’t think we should not pay for anything, but I do think we have not lost our minds and can stop making up fake expenses that put hard working people in more of a jam than they already are.
Society won’t get anything from me but a middle finger. Do it yourself and stop listening to lies.
The majority of people with any common sense will tell you that you “can’t take money with you when you die”. But this statement is technically not true and we have noted the actual amounts that you are allowed to take with you once you depart from this life (shown below). Now you will need to convert these dollar amounts into your own countries currency, and it may not look like a lot, but it does prove that you CAN take money with you when you die.
Option 1 (if going to heaven): Upon death you can take $4.75 cents for the God bus to the gates.
Option 2 (if going to hell): Upon death you can take $3.50 cents for the fun bus to the pit of fire.
Option 3 (if being reincarnated): Upon death you can take as much as you need in order to buy your new entity/body some clothing/and or food.
What’s this obsession Hollywood has with writing British accents into every “accurately” portrayed or “historic-epic” movie? It seems like one acclaimed block buster after another is taken dead serious as being close to real events when in fact they should be looked at as a complete joke. Films like Alexander, Troy, Gladiator, 300, just to name a few, are perfect examples of this nonsense. Come on! We are supposed to believe that because the main character is speaking in some cool British accent that it has historical relevence and is legitimate to the story? It’s ridiculous. I know it is just a movie, but people turn around and say that it is so “true to life” as if that’s how it was? And I didn’t even mention how insane it is that the characters in these films are speaking English in the first place. How historically accurate is that? Or is it that we are too lazy to read subtitles and must pretend that the Romans spoke perfect English..oh and in a British accent? Who the hell makes this stuff up? I am not buying it people.
And why do they feel the need to always summarize years of complex historical events within a few cool italic lines of text? These are cute talking points, but come on now. What the hell is this? Are you kidding me? Has the audience really becoming this ignorant to throw awards at this garbage? It’s a comedy, not a serious film. What’s next? Are they going to do a film set in ancient Japan, but have all the Samurai’s speaking english? Wait….it’s already been done.
We form many of our opinions, traditions, routines, and beliefs on the simple principle of “because they said so”. Think about it, when is the last time you researched facts on important issues for yourself? And I mean actual research that goes deeper than reading one random blog (like this garbage). And not just from listening to the banter coming from some Lego-haired and gaudy news anchor, or from your gossip lipped co-workers who can’t handle their own issues in life, but have the key to solving the entire worlds problems. It’s all a bunch of nonsense and I’m sick and tired of it. Sick and tired. Did you get that?
I’m sick of people always doing exactly what they are expected to do and without questioning anything. I mean, they question things, but still within their boundaries and guidelines. For example, instead of considering the candidates for Republican, Democratic, or even Independent parties, why aren’t we questioning whether or not ANY of these morons are qualified to run this country. Every thought of that? We simply accept what we think is popular, because “they” said it was. We’re going through the motions, supporting what is known, listening to what is popular, and what is broad casted in the mainstream. It must be somewhat accurate right…they said it in the media… well screw the media. It’s only there to fit someones interest and it revolves around hearsay and hype. Why stay in the same box and never attempt to learn about point of views that may not be convenient for us to listen to.
People are painfully predictable these days. If someone leans right in their opinions, they listen to everything fed from the right. If they lean left, they buy up all the propaganda from the left. If someone is undecided, they don’t listen to anything at all, but use their time to complain instead of forming a damn opinion and establishing a new choice for their society.
I say there is always a new choice, and it begins with common sense. Take every situation with a grain of salt and research it for yourself. Don’t just read one book on a subject, read several books. Don’t just meet one person from a different culture, meet several people. Don’t settle for one radio station with your favorite like minded ideas, listen to them all and you will hear that much of it has the same agenda.
The want you to believe that you need to stand in line and support the popular groups in life. That’s a bunch of bullsh**. You are the future and you can decide what happens every day. It’s never been about the majority, it has always been about the choices YOU make as an individual and the decisions everyone can control in their daily lives.
