Impressing Others is a Waste of Time

June 22, 2008

Has impressing other people ever brought you actual success, happiness, security, or fulfillment in life? And if so, how? Is life smooth sailing for you now that you’ve wasted energy impressing those around you? And when you impress one group of people, there will always be another group that doesn’t approve of you.

It’s a waste of time. Do what is right, do what you must. Don’t get caught up in popular opinion or what other cool people think you should do. Time to grow up.

Dead Bodies Trumped by Gay Marriage Complaints

June 18, 2008

Over 60 people died today in one of the worst car bombings in Baghdad this year, but many people decided to spend time complaining about the “controversy” over gay marriage being made legal in California. People lost their mothers, fathers, children, and loved ones, and we spend our time whining over differences. Ridiculous and minute differences as we always have. It perhaps is time to focus more on the fire in the kitchen rather than the cracks in the basement.

I urge my brothers and sisters to start waking up and seeing what death, destruction, and real oppression is happening and has happened around this earth. Make some positive changes for once and stop whining about every lifestyle choice your neighbor makes. Agenda, agenda, agenda. We may be slowly losing our minds, but it’s never too late to change.

You Give Your Whole Life

June 10, 2008

I’m thankful for the concept of work and for the ability to do work. I also realize that without working, we would not have food, water, shelter, entertainment, computers, telephones, etc.

I do, however, find it both amazing and quite depressing that most of our lives are given up to the workplace mainly because this fact is often overlooked and under appreciated. Spending most of your life at work may not be so bad if you are a Hollywood star, but the average human being spends more time with co-workers and supervisors than they do with their own families or friends.

This is something we should always remember so that we respect not only the workplace, but more importantly we respect others around us, whether they be co-workers, subordinates, or even our bosses (as they are known to be difficult). But we spend so much of our lives in this rat race and most of the stress we make is simply made up by bad attitudes and lack of respect. It is sad to see people knickle and dime each other over petty things and add to each others stress each day. I suggest that you think about this the next time you step into your workplace, because it is honestly a home more than a job.

Boost Your Ego

May 3, 2008

I’ve always wondered why we focus so much time and effort on impressing people we don’t necessarily like. I still can’t figure it out, but I’m sick of it.

Of all the things on this earth we choose to focus our time on….we decide to focus on appearance and image. What a bunch of nonsense. Do you ever get sick of it? I don’t care who you are or where you come from, you must be sick and tired of putting so much thought into how you come across to other people. And not only in your appearance, but in what you say or do. I’m not saying you should act on every single natural instinct you come across, but I’m saying that it’s ridiculous to get dressed up in a monkey suit every day and parade around in flashy cars to gain approval from society. What are we trying to prove anyways? Who are we fooling? Did we fool ourselves yet? Perhaps we have, but in the meantime I suggest you keep feeding your ego and telling yourself how wonderful you are. Keep worrying about your appearance and possessions to let others know what good taste you have.

Forget about the important things in life as they are truly secondary. It’s all about you.

Because They Said So

April 29, 2008

We form many of our opinions, traditions, routines, and beliefs on the simple principle of “because they said so”. Think about it, when is the last time you researched facts on important issues for yourself? And I mean actual research that goes deeper than reading one random blog (like this garbage). And not just from listening to the banter coming from some Lego-haired and gaudy news anchor, or from your gossip lipped co-workers who can’t handle their own issues in life, but have the key to solving the entire worlds problems. It’s all a bunch of nonsense and I’m sick and tired of it. Sick and tired. Did you get that?

I’m sick of people always doing exactly what they are expected to do and without questioning anything. I mean, they question things, but still within their boundaries and guidelines. For example, instead of considering the candidates for Republican, Democratic, or even Independent parties, why aren’t we questioning whether or not ANY of these morons are qualified to run this country. Every thought of that? We simply accept what we think is popular, because “they” said it was. We’re going through the motions, supporting what is known, listening to what is popular, and what is broad casted in the mainstream. It must be somewhat accurate right…they said it in the media… well screw the media. It’s only there to fit someones interest and it revolves around hearsay and hype. Why stay in the same box and never attempt to learn about point of views that may not be convenient for us to listen to.

People are painfully predictable these days. If someone leans right in their opinions, they listen to everything fed from the right. If they lean left, they buy up all the propaganda from the left. If someone is undecided, they don’t listen to anything at all, but use their time to complain instead of forming a damn opinion and establishing a new choice for their society.

I say there is always a new choice, and it begins with common sense. Take every situation with a grain of salt and research it for yourself. Don’t just read one book on a subject, read several books. Don’t just meet one person from a different culture, meet several people. Don’t settle for one radio station with your favorite like minded ideas, listen to them all and you will hear that much of it has the same agenda.

The want you to believe that you need to stand in line and support the popular groups in life. That’s a bunch of bullsh**. You are the future and you can decide what happens every day. It’s never been about the majority, it has always been about the choices YOU make as an individual and the decisions everyone can control in their daily lives.
